echo-pages (5)YANGON, MYANMAR Dec’12: The Do Write Campaign held its second international conference in Myanmar (Burma) and established several important partnerships with local organizations to help raise awareness and support for the problem of human trafficking and the modern-day enslavement of young women.

Do Write Campaign Founder Madeleine Lippey was also an invited delegate at the MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) benefit concert in Yangon, where American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz made history as the first international artist ever to perform at a massive open-air, public concert in Myanmar. The crowd erupted in excitement as Myanmar’s favorite female singer Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein joined Mraz on stage to perform for thousands of fervent fans at Yangon People’s Square, where the magnificent 2600 year-old golden Shwedagon Pagoda shined brilliantly in the background.
